I have started a lot of healthy habits.
Some lasted a week.
Some lasted until the groceries ran out.
A few made it all the way to Monday morning before disappearing completely.
Smoothies were probably the biggest offender.
I loved the idea of them. I'd buy spinach, berries, bananas, ginger, protein powder and whatever else Instagram told me I needed.
Sunday morning Sarah was very committed.
Monday morning Sarah had emails.
So when I was introduced to DNA, I wasn't particularly looking for another thing to add to my morning.
I was actually looking for something to take away.
The planning.
The chopping.
The cleaning.
The half-hour required to make something that looked like it belonged in a health retreat.
The first morning
I mixed DNA with cold water.
That's it.
One scoop. Shake. Drink.
I'll admit I was surprised by how little effort it took.
There was no blender.
No chopping board.
No kitchen covered in spinach.
And importantly, no excuse.
I could have it while answering emails.
That felt like a win.
Week one
By the end of the first week, DNA had quietly become part of my morning.
Some days it was water.
Sometimes coconut water.
When I had more time, I'd put it into a smoothie with berries and yoghurt.
I started thinking about it less as a "health thing" and more as something I just did.
Like brushing my teeth.
Then something interesting happened
Once breakfast stopped being complicated, I found myself making better decisions elsewhere.
Not dramatically.
I'm not suddenly someone who meal-preps seven perfectly balanced meals every Sunday.
But instead of grabbing whatever was easiest at 10am, I'd often have fruit and yoghurt.
Instead of another coffee and something sweet in the afternoon, I'd make a proper lunch.
One good decision seemed to make the next one a little easier.
And that's probably the part I hadn't expected.
The runner in me liked it too
I run a few times a week, usually early in the morning.
Before DNA, my routine was inconsistent.
Sometimes I'd eat.
Sometimes I'd just have coffee.
Sometimes I'd leave the house with nothing and wonder why I was starving by 9.30.
Now I have DNA as part of my morning routine, whether I'm heading out for a run or sitting down at my desk.
It's not complicated.
And that's exactly why it works for me.
The verdict
I'm not going to tell you DNA changed my life overnight.
It didn't.
And that's actually why I like it.
I'm not looking for another product promising to transform everything.
I just wanted something that made it easier to do one small thing well.
DNA gives me that.
One scoop. One habit. One less decision to make.
And after a few weeks, I realised something.
The hardest part wasn't drinking DNA.
The hardest part was believing that something so simple could actually become a habit.
Turns out, simple was exactly what I needed.
